Would it cause sundry symtoms like nausea and headache, etc OR would it cause the med to be ineffective?

Alcohol is not planned in the contraindications for that drug. You should be fine.
It's best not to drink any alcohol while on medication because you don't know how your body will counter. There are people who own had complications because they took something as simple as aspirin and after drank alcohol. Then there are others who seem to be to do fine. Which category you will fall surrounded by is anybody's guess.
