Could someone please explain what Hemidesmosomes are? I have a problem where on earth I am supposed to identify hemidesomes on a drawing and I have no perception what to look for.

Here is the link to the wikipedia answer. Realize that a hemidesmosome attaches to a vault membrane instead of to another cell. They function as anchors so cell don't just spatter away with motion.
